I think I'll stick with white wines so long as this heat wave keeps up (and as long as I keep getting reviews), so here's another summer wine review from Iron Chef.
--- Iron Chef's Review ---
Nose: Petrol, Tropical fruit - kiwi maybe. Good nose, pleasant aromas.
Taste: Nicely textured, off-dry. Good crispness. More tropical fruit, mango and kiwi. Lots of flavours. Enjoyable wine. Would be nice with Curries, Thai or Indian.

I have had the pleasure of trying this one about a month ago. It was fabulous. Minerally, tropical fruit. I am defintely picking up more of this over the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm drinking this right now, after the Masi fiasco. I think Iron Chef's review is right on. While this is reasonable rather than great for value, it's a good choice if you're in the mood for this style. For this price point it's not as buttery as a Chard, more flavour than a Pinot Grigio, not as tart as Sauv Blanc. I don't get a lot on the nose - only a hint of riesling petrol - but the palate is medium bodied and pleasantly lemony. A well balanced wine for causal sipping. I'd agree with the score of 87.
